Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing course
Tolerances
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing certificate course is ideally suitable for the VTU students studying in second year to shape their career to become industry ready in progressive manner. In this eLearning Course will give a clear understanding of all the Geometric Tolerances, symbols, and their proper usage in the Engineering Drawing. This skill development course will help attendees to understand and interpret the Engineering drawings in new / better ways used in various industries like Aerospace, Automotive, Heavy equipment etc. Engineering drawing study is an Important Skill needed to join and work in all types of Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automobile, Aeronautics and production Industries. GD &T symbols and techniques are used in the Design / R&D Department to create any Engineering Drawings for Product Design, Machine Design, Fixture Design, Robotics and Industrial Automation of any Mechanical Industries. GD & T Symbols and Techniques are key skill sets for the Quality Department, Production / Manufacturing Department and Vendor Development activities—the Engineering drawings to be studied and interpreted from the Designer's point of view. If the Engineering drawings are misinterpreted by the Quality / Production / Vendor Development department then it leads to Quality and manufacturing issues which end up with the rejection of parts. This course will provide a thorough understanding of the various Geometric tolerances & symbols in the Engineering drawings and their real Industrial application and uses. Industry Experts built this GD&T course and keep updating to the latest Mechanical Core Industries. Our Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing course covers the fundamentals and principles of the ASME Y14.5 2009 GD&T standard. The course focuses on the 14 geometric characteristic symbols explaining in detail each symbol, feature control frames, different modifiers, and how they affect tolerancing when placed in the feature control frame. The course also goes into depth on datum and datum selection methods. You will be exposed to methods of inspection for the characteristic symbols, composite feature control frames, and design exercises. The course is delivered with a combination of principles, exercises, and drawing examples from a professional with over 20 years of practical experience. We have used Mind Mapping Techniques - a unique method of teaching to apply these principles in day-to-day life. This GD & T course content was duly evaluated by AICTE, New Delhi
